Hello,
I would like to request a validation code so that I may have a hosted plone website to use a sandbox to evaluate the feasibility of using it before suggesting it to my company. The company that I am currently working for has been using a random mashup of online and desktop applications to manage the different aspects of software development and I believe that plone would be able to consolidate our needs into a centralized interface that is accessible anywhere. I have read the usage policy including the section stating that this space cannot be used for commercial purposes and I would only use this project to demo plone so that my company could evaluate it based on an accurate model that would satisfy their requirements. Once they have seen the demonstration site we would transfer the site to one of our own servers and host it ourselves. A demonstration with a realistically configured model would be much more convincing than just a fact sheet for us because it would demonstrate that plone and its component library can come together to provide a real solution and isn't restricted to just being a great idea on paper.
The reason why I am here requesting hosting and not just doing it at my work is because none of this work is in my job description and I will be developing it in my spare time. I have done some site development for my own personal site using other CMS systems and have always been interested in plone but never able to come up with a project that could really utilize it, the chance to develop this mock-up would let me experiment with plone personally and help my company out at the same time. I will largely be developing this at home but hosting it locally isn't appropriate because I would like to be able to show the site to others and get their feedback while it's still being created. Unfortunately I can't host it at my personal hosted domain either because the hosting service I have does not support it and I'm in the middle of my contract with them. When I have finished the mock-up site for my company I would shift the purpose of the site to help manage and coordinate several open-source projects that me and my friends have.
Thank you for your consideration.
